Most people have no idea how good their body is designed to feel. You can’t be the happiest, glowing version of you if your chugging down gallons of fizzy drink each day. You can’t trash your body with packaged foods and expect to be happy with what you see in the mirror. Our relationship with food is a deeply, intimate part of us – how we feel about ourselves is reflected in how we treat/trash/ or nourish ourselves.
This post will give you a little insight into the way I eat. This isn’t a diet for me but my lifestyle. I LOOOVE eating this way – I’m happiest when I’m nourishing my body with food that makes me thrive whilst tantalising my tastebuds… think sweet potatoes wedges drizzled with pure maple syrup, scrambled turmeric eggs with red peppers, sautéed broccoli in a lemony creamy tahini dressing (my favourite!), aubergine with sweet potato and chickpea tikka masala – without refined oils or a bucket load of table salt! You can eat your gluten free, refined sugar free frosted cacao brownie and look good while you eat it too 😉
Lastly, this is what works for my body. Your nutritional, physical and emotional needs for food will definitely be different to mine. Listen to your body to figure out what works best for you and your lifestyle. For example, I prefer to avoid fruit, too much animal protein, uncooked vegetables in their raw state and too many grains.
These items are fundamental in my kitchen. They’re also core ingredients that can be used in a variety of meals and desserts.
